Replyze on Magento / Adobe Commerce
5 steps · Theme or site setting
- 1In Magento admin, go to Content → Design → Configuration.
- 2Click Edit on the row for your store view (or on the website or global row, to cover several store views).
- 3Expand HTML Head and find Scripts and Style Sheets.
- 4Paste the snippet into that field and click Save Configuration.
<script>
window.ReplyzeConfig = {
token: 'wgt_YOUR_TOKEN_HERE',
apiUrl: 'https://client.replyze.chat'
};
</script>
<script src="https://cdn.replyze.chat/widget.js" async></script>Why Replyze for Magento / Adobe Commerce
One admin screen: any Magento 2 or Adobe Commerce store whose admin has Content → Design → Configuration installs it the same way.
Per store view: each store view can load its own widget, so each brand or language gets its own chat.
No module, no Composer package, no setup:upgrade and no static content deploy.
Works behind Varnish and full-page cache: the snippet is cached with the page, and the widget script loads from cdn.replyze.chat.
The AI answers shipping, returns and product questions from the articles you write. It doesn't read your Magento catalog, stock or orders, and it won't guess: order questions are for your team.
Your options
Two ways to add chat to Magento 2
Chat for Magento comes in two kinds: an extension (module) that runs inside your store, or a hosted tool you add with a snippet. Replyze is the second kind.
| Compared | Chat extension (module) | Hosted chat (snippet) |
|---|---|---|
| Install | Composer or the Adobe Commerce Marketplace, then setup:upgrade, compile and static content deploy | Paste a script into Content → Design → Configuration and flush the cache |
| Runs on | Your Magento server; some chat modules also need extra services running there | The chat vendor's servers |
| Cost | Often a one-time licence. MageComp's Magento 2 chat extension, for example: $49 one-time (checked 23 October 2026) | A monthly plan. Replyze Pro: $55 a month billed yearly, or $69 monthly |
| Upgrades | Re-test the module with each Magento upgrade | No module to re-test; check the chat on checkout after an upgrade (see the CSP note below) |
| Store data | Can read Magento data directly, depending on the extension | Depends on the tool. Replyze doesn't read Magento orders, stock or customer accounts |
Pick an extension if chat has to live inside your Magento stack. Pick hosted chat if you want an AI that answers from your help content and a shared inbox for your team, without touching your deployment.

Before you go live
Things that trip up Magento installs
Full-page cache and Varnish
The snippet is part of the cached HTML. After saving, flush System → Cache Management and purge Varnish or your CDN (Fastly on Adobe Commerce Cloud, or Cloudflare). The widget script itself loads from cdn.replyze.chat, so no ESI hole-punching is needed.
Checkout on Magento 2.4.7 and later
Since 2.4.7, Magento runs its Content Security Policy in restrict mode on payment pages, such as the storefront checkout, and in report-only mode on every other page. Out of the box the chat works everywhere except checkout, which many stores prefer.
To show it on checkout too, a developer adds the Replyze hosts to a module's etc/csp_whitelist.xml as type="host" values: cdn.replyze.chat under script-src, and client.replyze.chat under connect-src (the API and the wss:// realtime connection) and img-src (photos and attachments). The inline config script also needs a nonce from Magento\Csp\Helper\CspNonceProvider, or rendering through SecureHtmlRenderer. Alternatively, use the one-tag form of the snippet, which has no inline script: <script src="https://cdn.replyze.chat/widget.js" data-token="wgt_YOUR_TOKEN_HERE" async></script>. Then open checkout with the browser console open and allow anything else it reports as blocked.
Which field, and which scope
HTML Head → Scripts and Style Sheets puts the snippet in the page head; Footer → Miscellaneous HTML puts it at the end of the page. The script is async, so either works.
A store view's own value wins over the website and global rows. If you saved the snippet on the global row and a store view shows no chat, check whether that store view has its own value in the same field.
Multi-store and multi-language
Design Configuration is set per store view, so each view can load a different widget. Run one Replyze workspace per brand or language (up to 20 workspaces per login), each with its own articles and AI instructions.
Hyvä, PWA Studio and headless
If your theme renders the HTML Head or Footer fields, the install is the same. If the snippet doesn't appear in your storefront's page source, add it to your theme's layout instead. For PWA Studio or another headless storefront, add it to your frontend app's root layout.
Check that it is live
View your storefront's page source and search for cdn.replyze.chat/widget.js. No result means the configuration wasn't saved at the right scope, or a cache layer is still serving the old page.
Replacing Zendesk Chat on Magento 2
Find where the old widget was added. It's usually in the same Design Configuration fields (HTML Head → Scripts and Style Sheets, or Footer → Miscellaneous HTML), or in a Zendesk extension's settings under Stores → Configuration. In your storefront's page source, search for the Zendesk script: the current widget loads from static.zdassets.com (a script with the id ze-snippet), the older one from assets.zendesk.com.
Remove the old script or disable the extension, paste the Replyze snippet, save, and flush the cache. If both stay, shoppers see two chat buttons.
Replyze doesn't import Zendesk chat history, so export what you need from Zendesk for your records first. Your help articles can come across: paste them in, or upload a PDF or Word export and let Write with AI draft them for you to review.
In practice
How Replyze fits into Magento / Adobe Commerce
Replyze answers from what you write, not from your Magento database. Put your shipping zones and times, returns, sizing, warranties and product details into help articles, and the AI answers shoppers from them, in the shopper's language. It doesn't read your Magento catalog, stock or orders. Questions like "where is my order?" go to your team in the shared inbox, and with the retail industry setup the AI first collects the order number and the email used at checkout.
For several stores, give each store view its own widget. In Design Configuration the Scripts and Style Sheets field can be set per store view, so each brand or language can point at its own Replyze workspace, with its own articles and AI instructions.
Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure uses the same admin screen, so the install is identical there. Purge the Fastly cache after saving so cached pages pick up the snippet.

FAQ
Magento / Adobe Commerce + Replyze, answered
No. The snippet goes into Design Configuration (HTML Head or Footer), which is part of core Magento. No module, no composer require, no setup:upgrade.
Magento 1 is end-of-life and we don't test against it. The steps on this page are for Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce.
In Design Configuration, edit each store view row and paste that store view's snippet (a different widget token, from a different Replyze workspace) into Scripts and Style Sheets. Magento serves the right one for the active store view.
Yes. The snippet is cached with the page, and the widget script loads from cdn.replyze.chat, outside the Magento page cache, so no ESI configuration is needed. Flush the Magento cache and purge Varnish or Fastly after you add or change the snippet.
Check four things: (1) you clicked Save Configuration on the right row (a store view's own value wins over the website and global rows); (2) you flushed the Magento cache; (3) you purged Varnish or your CDN; (4) the snippet is in the HTML: view your storefront's page source and search for cdn.replyze.chat/widget.js. If it's missing only on checkout, see the CSP note above.
The widget script loads asynchronously, so it doesn't block your page. It's served from cdn.replyze.chat, not from your Magento server.
